Justin Timberlake Is 'Hilarious' In 'Bad Teacher,' Cameron Diaz Says
'He gives us a character that you have not seen yet before,' she tells MTV News.

Maybe folks were surprised when Justin Timberlake hosted "Saturday Night Live" in 2003 and slayed the crowd alongside Jimmy Fallon during "The Barry Gibb Talk Show." Perhaps, though, you missed that skit and only caught Timberlake's digital short a few years later, when he and Andy Samberg busted out a Christmas comedy classic called "Di-- in a Box." But by the time JT reunited with Samberg for "Motherlover" in 2009, the secret was out: The dude knows how to make people laugh.
That's why Cameron Diaz knew Timberlake was the perfect pick to star in "Bad Teacher," their upcoming foul-mouthed comedy.
"I don't think Justin Timberlake is a hidden treasure of comedy any longer," she told MTV News when we caught up with her at CinemaCon this week. "I think he burst that bubble a long time ago on 'SNL.' Everybody knows he's got the chops. We all felt, and why he was cast, was he was the best person for the job. He's so wonderful in it."
Diaz plays the titular dreadful educator, a woman who's more concerned with getting her drink on after school than shaping minds during it. All that changes, however, when she decides to try out her gold-digging skills and sets her sights on a substitute teacher played by Timberlake. The sub seems like a super sweet guy, but, as Diaz let us know, he's not all he's cracked up to be.
"He gives us a character that you have not seen yet before — not just him, but pretty much anyone," she said. "It's just a very interesting character and a lot of fun to watch. By the end of it, you're like, 'What is up with that dude?' It's hilarious."

Given the Tinseltown trend of older women dating younger men, Mary Jo Eustace has devised a new cookbook to help cougars.
According to FOX Pop Tarts, ?Cooking for Your Cub!? is designed for women like Jennifer Aniston and Demi Moore, both of whom tend to prefer their gents on the youthful end of the spectrum.
Eustace explained, ?I wanted to do something really fun and an anecdote to the whole divorce saga. This is for women who are in their 30s and 40s and are starting again, making a great living and don?t necessarily need men financially.?
She continued, ?The whole idea of the book is to have a woman who is secure, dating a younger man, and cooking for romance and fun.?

Leigh Bowery's unlikely influence on Westlife
Boyband star Mark Feehily has revealed that the performance artist is his 'inspirational hero'
Lost in Showbiz was this week delighted to see a deeply improbable name crop up in conjunction with late performance artist and fashion designer Leigh Bowery: Mark Feehily of the boyband Westlife, who, in an article to mark what would have been Bowery's 50th birthday, describes the man behind the fashion collections Pakis From Outer Space, Mincing Queens and Disease/Spastic as "a creative and inspirational hero".
Something about the combination of the words "Leigh Bowery" "inspirational" and "Westlife" caused LiS's mind to boggle in no uncertain terms. It notes that Bowery variously performed naked with his face blacked up; administered enemas to himself on stage and climaxed his act by "giving birth" to a blood and excrement-covered woman before apparently vomiting in her mouth and giving her a cup of urine to drink: "The kids were all covered in blood and piss," remembered one observer happily.
LiS fully expects to see the great man's influence very much in evidence during the next Westlife tour, provisionally titled From Singing Ballads While Perched On Stools To Showering Our Audience With Them: indeed, it finds itself booking front-row seats, pausing only to take the precautionary measure of ordering a sou'wester and waterproof hat. Furthermore, it crosses its fingers in hope that this ushers in a whole new era of boybands, in which extreme performance art inspired by extreme performance art. It suspects that at this very moment JLS are debating whether to appear on The National Lottery Live singing the Austrian National Anthem while masturbating and cutting themselves with razors in the manner of G�nter Brus's contribution to the 1968 action Art and Revolution and that Simon Cowell is planning on forcing Harry from One Direction to crawl naked across broken glass then have his hands nailed to a Volkswagen Beetle in homage to the oeuvre of Chris Burden.

Disturbed Will 'Give 110 Percent' In Musical March Madness Competition
Band faces a tough Elite 8 challenge against defending champs Coheed and Cambria.

When MTV tipped off our Musical March Madness tournament three weeks ago, 64 bands stood on the precipice of greatness ... though, to be honest, one of them seemed to face a tougher challenge than all the rest. Chicago shredders Disturbed, who were stuck with a #9 seed, were pitted against the heavily favored Dave Matthews Band in the opening round and basically left for dead.
But Disturbed refused to die. They knocked off DMB in convincing fashion, then, in one of the tournament's most eye-opening victories, ripped #1 seed Foo Fighters to reach the Sweet 16. That win served notice to the rest of the MMM bands that Disturbed were a force to be reckoned with, and they backed up that newfound clout with a thorough throttling of Patrick Stump to reach the Elite 8.

And though their tournament run has surprised many, no one has been as shocked as Disturbed frontman David Draiman, who, upon learning his band was pitted against the Foos in round two, basically started packing his bags.
"I was very surprised that we got past the Foo Fighters. I didn't think that would happen," he told MTV News. "But as has been classically the case with our band, you never see us coming ... yet we'll come by and smack you upside the head. The Disturbed fanbase is powerful ... when put to the test, they show up and make their voices heard."
And now, in the Elite 8, Disturbed face their toughest tournament challenge to date: defending MMM champs Coheed and Cambria, who have used a combination of utter dominance and last-second heroics to keep their repeat dreams alive. And with voting in their matchup already under way over on the Newsroom blog, we asked Draiman to give us his take on the band standing between him and a spot in the Final Four.

"I think they're very, very talented musicians ... I definitely think they're very stiff competition. They've got an unbelievably dedicated fanbase, they're a very powerful band ... they're going to be a very serious challenge for us," he said. "I mean, we're up against leviathans here, you know, whether it's Green Day or any of the rest of these guys, they're all huge bands, so we're just very, very honored to be in competition with them. And I know that we, and the Disturbed fanbase, will give 110 percent all the way."
And they're going to need every last decimal point of that 110 percent to knock off Coheed. Still, Disturbed have made it this far, and Draiman thinks they've got a legitimate shot at advancing. And they'd better, because the stakes are high. Not only would it be a victory for his band and their fans, but for the entire hard-rock genre, really.
"We definitely need to get everybody to rally together. We need to let everybody show their strengths and just give 110 percent all the way, and just make sure that their voices are heard," he said. "This is the time to make a statement. This is the time to strike a blow for the genre and let it be known that we're not going to go away quietly."

Sara Cox talks about going organic, her doomed vegetable patch, and her favourite foods.
I started to think about my diet and issues like organic food during my first pregnancy, about seven years ago. Like most women, I suppose being responsible for the nutrition of a little person for the first time focused my mind on what exactly I was putting into my (and their) body.
I'm obsessed by food and flavours. I love roast dinners, simple avocado salads, spicy Vietnamese papaya salad, all fish and seafood, a good steak... my mum makes an amazing ham shank broth and I think that's definitely a contender for first prize.
My favourite organic recipe is probably a huge batch of chilli con carne cooked with organic low fat British minced beef, tons of kidney beans, tomatoes and baked beans. The kids love it and I freeze it in loads of mini portions.
I feel happier that the food I give my family has less pesticides or hormones in it. I think what products one chooses to buy organic is a very personal "gut-feeling" decision. Foods we get through loads of (chicken, milk, cheese, green veg, eggs) and food I rinse quickly under the tap before giving to my kids (blueberries, strawberries) seems better if it's organic. Give me a knobbly misshapen organic strawberry over the weirdly uniform and perfectly shiny non-organic ones any day.
My mum taught me about good food and looking after yourself and I want to do the same for my kids. Lola already knows how good food affects your "bones, skin, brain and your insides" and she's aware of avoiding chemicals in food. Of course she has pick & mix and loads of rubbish at the cinema as a treat, but she usually chooses good stuff the rest of the time. Also, coming from a farming background, it's important they know about where food comes from. Organic often goes hand in hand with better farming standards too.
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is very cool. I love how he rears, slaughters, then cooks his animals. I've recently discovered Leon too, which is my new obsession.
My food villain is salt. I'd love to be have the odd ready meal as a lazy treat, but some contain 33% of your salt intake! i just cant do it to myself! Also I hate drinks aimed at kids that are loaded with aspartame and other sweeteners.
I tried growing my own veg but was rubbish at it. My tomatoes got blight and a trampoline now sits on the turfed-over veg patch.
I try my best to live greenly. We're very good with the recycling, I drive a hybrid, nag the kids about wasting water and I'm constantly turning off lights, TVs and other electrical stuff. I'm holidaying in UK this Easter. I like my house to stay quite cool. It's my Northern blood and it drives my Southern other half mad.
If I had to sum up my green credentials in just five words, they'd be: not perfect but trying hard.
To anyone thinking of going organic, I'd say just choose one or two things at first, some lovely vine tomatoes or some proper sausages. Choose what's important to you and what your budget allows.

'Source Code' Requires A 'Leap Of Faith,' Director Says
Duncan Jones says if moviegoers can suspend disbelief, they'll 'go with it and enjoy the ride.'

In most cases, when we travel to the theater or sit down to watch movies, we're looking to be swept up by a great story, transported to other realms and just plain entertained. In doing so, however, there is an element of suspended disbelief that both filmmakers and audiences alike rely on in order to fully immerse themselves in a story.
And while the upcoming thriller "Source Code" is based in present-day reality, there are several elements that draw on the sci-fi and fantastical genres and, as such, rely on the audience to suspend disbelief a bit. When MTV News caught up with director Duncan Jones recently, we asked him to explain his strategy for presenting audiences with challenging ideas without making them too convoluted or confusing.
"Ben Ripley wrote the script, and I thought it was terrific," Jones said. "I thought, 'There are some heady ideas here,' and I think he's done a really good job of balancing what the audience needs to know and giving the audience enough rules that if you just invite them to take a leap of faith you'll go with it and you can enjoy the ride."
Jones went on to say that the one element they added to Ripley's story of traveling into people's brains during the last eight minutes of their lives was humor.
"I think one of the things we were able to do is lighten the tone, inject some humor into it so the audience is able to make that leap of faith and say, 'I understand you, I trust these rules you've set up, let's just see how the story goes.' "
