'Kim is the original, I believe, and Nicki is the right now,' G-Unit MC says on Shade 45.

Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj's war of words has died down considerably in the new year, following months of fiery sniping in interviews and songs.
Queen Bee collaborator 50 Cent ("Magic Stick"), not one to shy away from differences with others, downplayed the rift between the feuding female MCs. In an interview on Shade 45's "G-Unit Saturdays," he spoke via phone about the beef with DJ Whoo Kid.
"When I look at them actually competing, I don't see anything," 50 said. "I think it's harmless. It adds an interesting story and other interests to them, 'cause Kim is the original, I believe, and Nicki is the right now."
When the pugilistic rapper was told his answer was surprisingly neutral — in addition to working with Kim, 50 is from Queens, New York, as is Nicki — he joked he didn't want to get involved in their battle.
"How do you get in the middle of a girl fight?" he responded.
Since New Year's Eve, when Kim fired the last salvo at Nicki during a performance, the two Big Apple rappers have remained quiet regarding one another.
Veteran MC Rah Digga recently headlined an all-lady lyricist concert in Los Angeles, and the former Flipmode Squad member said the feuding isn't necessary.
"To be honest, if you're an artist and you're just into the music, all that stuff is irrelevant," Digga told Mixtape Daily. "All that stuff they're fighting for has nothing to do with making good music or being an artist. It is what it is. It's a fight about being a popular celebrity. It has nothing to do with music. And I don't get caught up in that and I don't deal with anybody in it."
Do you think Kim and Nicki have a reason to feud? Sound off below!

Making it sound as if family expansion may be in the works, Vanessa Minnillo opened up about the possibility of a baby in 2011 with Nick Lachey being a strong likelihood.
Asked about the chances that she'll be joining in on the Hollywood baby boom, Miss Minnillo said, ?Things happen. And if a blessing comes before the wedding then that?s exactly what it is, [a blessing].?
Having gotten engaged to Lachey back in November 2010, the pair have yet to choose (or reveal) any set wedding plans at the current time.
The couple just finished filming a guest spot together on "Hawaii Five-O" airing in February, which goes along with the fact that Vanessa has said that work has gotten in the way of baby plans in the past - but that won't always be the case.
She told, ?I would love to have children and work. I definitely don?t want it to slow me down. I?m always going to be, ?Go, go, go.? And I?m going to be pregnant, fat and happy through it all.?
As for her role model when it comes to celebrity moms, the 30-year-old revealed that she's all about Reese Witherspoon, as she dished, ?I think she?s amazing. She?s a strong woman who can manage her two babies and still be a talented actress as well an ambassador for her causes. She?s done it all, and she?s done it all with grace and [shown] it is possible.?

Brian Friedman describes working with Jonas Åkerlund on video.

Jonas Åkerlund certainly has the resume to pull off an epic clip for Britney Spears' "Hold It Against Me." Having already directed spectacles like Lady Gaga's "Telephone," Madonna's "Ray of Light" and Pink's "Sober," Åkerlund is known for creating sexy, controversial and sleek pop videos. So, working with Spears was a natural fit, said her choreographer, Brian Friedman.
"[When] Jonas and I got on the phone for the first time, I was actually jumping on a plane somewhere, so the conversation was very brief, but I am a huge Jonas Åkerlund fan," Friedman dished to MTV News. "Anything that he does is magical. His eye for art is insane, so I was excited to work with someone who loves art so much and it's not just a job, it's not technical; it really is a string aesthetic to what he does."
When Friedman and Åkerlund finally did get the chance to hash it out, the conversation was about how to ensure the video would be focused on what Spears is known for: her tight and sexy dance moves.
"So with that said, I had a meeting with him at his house. We went through the video from top to bottom, and I gave him as much input from the dance side, 'cause it's a dance video, as I could to try to help bring his story to life," he recalled. "And the collaboration was incredible."
Friedman said Åkerlund completely understood his and Spears' ideas on the project, and the results, he said, are no less than stellar.
"I really feel like bringing two artists together in a way like that — where the director really loves the dance and understands the art of the dance and doesn't try to cover it up and water it down — is the best way to go," he said. "He was genius for me with dance."

Even Daddy's fortune couldn't save the Formula One heiress from being bullied at school
Look at the news: terrorism, war, recession, cuts, "bunga-bunga" parties. What the world needs is an inspirational saga from which we can all draw comfort in these dark days. Happily, there's one on offer in this month's Grazia, courtesy of a three-page feature on the "seemingly unspoiled" 22-year-old Petra Ecclestone, and her triumph over adversity, armed only with pluck, determination and her father's estimated fortune of 1.466bn.
During this, the Formula One heiress categorically sets herself apart from the massed ranks of vacuous trustafarians by announcing that she had to buy a 56m Grade II-listed mansion in Chelsea because: "I need a garden for my dogs and there aren't many properties in Chelsea or Belgravia with a private garden." Luckily for Ecclestone: "My dad can afford to fund all this."
Alas, there are dark clouds on the horizon of her apparently charmed life. The renovation of the mansion is set to take two years, during which time she'll be forced to live in her 25m seven-bedroom mansion in Chelsea. Clearly a lesser soul would buckle under the stress, but they haven't been hardened by the seemingly unspoilt Petra Ecclestone's tough upbringing.
She was, she admits, subjected to a campaign of bullying at school. "They'd refuse to let me play hopscotch because my shoes were from Milan, instead of Russell & Bromley," she remembers. Before anybody asks some pressing questions (most notably, what kind of weird-ass school was this where children of hopscotch-playing age were apparently able to differentiate between shoes from Russell & Bromley and shoes from Milan?), she adds: "but while it made it harder to trust people, I think it's probably made me stronger."
Lost in Showbiz doesn't doubt that it has. It implores: seemingly unspoilt Petra Ecclestone! Why not take your tale of overcoming the hopscotch shoe-bullies around the failing schools of Britain? Show those kids what can be achieved simply with inner strength and the 24th richest man in Britain for a father. After all, it's not like you've got anything else on.

Continuing to receive help as she eases into life after rehab, Demi Lovato was spotted arriving at A New Journey Eating Disorder Center in Santa Monica, California on Monday (January 31).
The "Camp Rock" star seemed to be in a bit of a hurry to get inside as she flashed a quick smile while toting her notebook in preparation of the day's treatment lessons.
Having checked out of rehab and moved back to Los Angeles this past Friday, reports tell that Miss Lovato is still on hiatus with the Disney Channel - as they will wait to begin working with Demi until her camp feels that she?s ready.
As for her music, the 18-year-old plans to tour later this year and is going to focus on making sure ticket prices are affordable for her fans.

'It's been so much fun to be able to live my dream,' singer says on 'Today' show.

Justin Bieber is on press rounds promoting his 3-D movie "Never Say Never," out next weekend. He appeared on the "Today" show, where he sat down with Matt Lauer to talk about the film and how it chronicles his rise to fame.
"Not just that I've been working hard, just showing what I've been going through and how much it takes out of you. It's been so much fun to be able to live my dream," he said, with a crowd of screaming fans watching.
The film is part concert film, part documentary, and his fans play a big role in it. Bieber said that the part in the film where he gives away tickets to his fans is his favorite. "I love that part. It's one of my favorite parts because everyone gets happy. It makes everyone happier. You go in the back and you give them tickets ... it's amazing."
Bieber explained that while his rise to fame was no accident, he had no idea it would be this meteoric or epic. "It was crazy because I started out posting videos online and not wishing for anything and then this all happened really fast," he said. "I've been playing music since I can remember. It's such a big part of my life and I want that to be shown, especially in my movie."
Sure, Bieber is busy being a pop star, but he says that he makes sure that in addition to working hard, he gets some time to play hard. "Well, I make sure I have at least one day off a week. I need one day of downtime. The rest of the week is all jam-packed. I have to have at least one day," he said. "It's hard because I'm away from my family, like, my brother and sister. You only live once, but at the same time, by brother and sister are going to grow up and they're going to be proud of me."
These days Bieber's other big challenge is puberty. "My voice is definitely changing, gradually," he said. "It's how you go through it. I have a good vocal coach."

Need a little help with your dougie? Give Usher a call! At least, that's what David Beckham did. The soccer superstar wanted sons Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, 8, and 5 1/2-year-old Cruz to get their groove on, so he called on the singer to step in.
"David's a good friend of mine. I got a call from him about two months ago and we were catching up. One of the things we talked about was that he wanted his sons to have dance lessons," Usher said.

'The Fighter' star Melissa Leo and 'The King's Speech' actor Colin Firth also rack up awards.

The Hollywood awards season continues to trek along, and on Sunday night (January 30), the performers honored their leading lights at the 17th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. In an evening of few upsets, 2011 awards-season darlings like Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Colin Firth and Melissa Leo continued to cement their status as names to watch along the road to Oscar.
Bale was joined onstage by real-life inspiration Dicky Eklund when he scored Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for "The Fighter." Bale also dished out advice to aspiring actors, saying that it helps that he finds people fascinating, but added, "Bumping into Mark Wahlberg ain't bad."
Natalie Portman extended her awards-show winning streak by nabbing Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for "Black Swan." Swathing her budding baby bump in a white Azzaro gown, the former child star expressed gratitude for being able to finish her education and shouted out her parents for instilling in her that she "can never be an a--hole."
Colin Firth also sprinkled some heartfelt humor into his speech when he accepted the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. "The King's Speech" actor joked about once hoping his SAG card would land him "female attention" and entry into nightclubs and, after sizing up the A-list talent in the room, thanked security for letting him into the building.
When Leo nabbed Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her role in the "The Fighter," she hugged her co-star and fellow nominee Amy Adams and gleefully bolted toward the stage in a glittery gown, which she briefly tripped on as she reached for the award. The actress aptly took the win to pump up the importance of the guild, saying, "Unions make this country great, because it gives a voice to the working people."
Alec Baldwin and Betty White gave the first statuette of the evening to Steve Buscemi for his portrayal of a gleefully corrupt Prohibition-era politician on HBO's "Boardwalk Empire." The star looked visibly touched during his first SAG win, and shouted out "Empire" director Martin Scorsese, imploring the legendary film architect -- who has recently fallen ill -- to "please come back." The entire "Empire" cast later headed back onstage when they took home Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
"Desperate Housewives" siren Eva Longoria, rocking a silvery Georges Hobeika gown with a plunging neckline, and "Glee" jock Cory Monteith handed over the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series trophy to Julianna Margulies for "The Good Wife." Accepting her second consecutive SAG win for the role, she thanked the Teamsters for digging everyone out of the snow on the show's set.
Amy Poehler introduced the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series category by saying she likes her actors, and her sandwiches, "real," "warm" and "heavy on the meat." Baldwin walked away with the meaty win for his fifth consecutive "30 Rock" win.
First-time SAG winner Betty White looked genuinely surprised when she accepted the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series award and received a standing ovation. After speaking about how she was "so lucky to be 89" and still working, she tossed in some cheeky humor by briefly fondling the nude statuette's backside and wrapping her fingers around its groin area.
One of the few actors in the room able to boast more experience than White was 94-year-old Oscar-winning legend Ernest Borgnine, who accepted the SAG Life Achievement Award following an introduction from his "McHale's Navy" co-star Tim Conway and fellow "Red" actor Morgan Freeman. The guild also saluted late stars like Leslie Nielsen, Lynn Redgrave and Lena Horne in the "In Memoriam" segment.
The event also lauded actors who have made a big impact within the short span of a television commercial with a montage that celebrated everyone from the bubbly chick in the Progressive insurance ads to Clara Peller's inescapable Wendy's catchphrase "Where's the beef?"
All the A-listers in "The King's Speech" were honored with the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, but Geoffrey Rush took the opportunity to spotlight some of the cast's younger actors, pointing out the brief performance of a stammering student.
Other winners included Claire Danes for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries for "Temple Grandin"; "You Don't Know Jack" star Al Pacino for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries; and the cast of "Modern Family" for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. While many of the 2011 awards-season champions like Portman, Bale and Leo were honored, other fan and critical favorites like "The Social Network" and "Glee" went home empty-handed.
